Noonday Collection - Purchase with Purpose

About this time last year I was introduced to noonday collection and quickly fell in love with their mission and beautiful products. I hosted a trunk show last summer where Kacey and I actually talked for the first time outside of social media, so noonday has a part in our story, too. They launched their spring and summer line a about a month ago and we are loving it!

We were the nerds that took a picture after we were done. I think we were on a Noonday high from all of the amazing women we had just met!
Last month we ventured to a trunk show in Franklin where we not only got to view the new line but also had the amazing opportunity to meet the founder, Jessica Honegger, and many other fantastic ladies. We had so much fun hearing Jessica's story and getting to chat with her (!!!) about her inspiration in our lives. It was so awesome to see how one woman saying "yes" to God and being faithful to His calling on her life has changed the lives of the artisans AND the ambassadors that noonday employs.

If you aren't familiar with Noonday you can learn more about how this company is empowering women at http://www.noondaycollection.com/our-story.html and/or view the info below.

I am going to share my favorite Noonday pieces with you and how I wear them. If I am not still in pajamas at home (just being honest!) I more than likely have on noonday somewhere. It's become a staple in my wardrobe and I love finding different ways to wear the pieces.

I am all about an arm party. Necklaces aren't always a part of my everyday because my son still loves to pull/play with those and bigger earrings. All of the bracelets pictured above are from Noonday. (The fabulous turquoise one, too!)
Love how this necklace adds a much needed pop of color to my simple black and white. (they have it now in grey and turquoise which is pretty amazing as well!).
For times when I don't have 2 year old hands around these necklaces are an easy go to! I have on the inca steps necklace in teal above (they also have it in coral!).

The minted necklace is a great layering piece
Kacey and I have both pinned some of our favorite noonday pieces over on our pinterest board - check them out! We are also hosting a show on April 10th. If you are interested in attending or would like more information (you can shop online!) email us and we'll be happy to fill you in.  We know you will love this company as much as we do - as if their products weren't enough to make us swoon, it makes it even better knowing that your purchase enables other women and their families!

Friday Five March 21-23

March 21 to March 23 - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - Center for the Arts
Based on the popular 1988 film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers on two con men living on the French Riviera. Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress Christine Colgate, wins and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end! For more information, call (615) 904-2787 or http://www.boroarts.org

About Us

Our friendship is one that was knitted together through social media and the shared love of Jesus, our community, and philanthropic ventures. Together, we hope to encourage and inspire you to find the joy in your everyday, dig a little deeper in your spirit, and appreciate the little things. We want to make our time together count and hope that when you leave our little space in the blogosphere that you leave a little happier, knowing no matter where you're reading from that you have a place to rest here.

We will cover all of the things we are passionate about - which trust us, is quite a bit. Whether you're looking for something to do with your family locally, searching for a recommendation for your next devotional or a cause to support, or trying to find inspiration for your next DIY project - you'll be able to find it here. WELCOME!

(Challenged by this blog post we are going to do things a bit differently and introduce each other instead of writing our own bios!)

Meet my friend Emily! Emily is always fabulously accessorized and styled. She has a great eye for design - everything from fashion to interiors. You want color? Emily is your girl! Don't let all that pretty fool you though - she's a down home Southern girl who keeps it real. She's a devoted Wife to Chris, Mother to Finley (2) and Christ Follower. Emily is the girl who when she has something to say, trust me, it's worth listening to - she doesn't waste words and she's not just a sayer, but a doer. Her passion for her family, encouraging women, and supporting her community are truly inspiring to me. I'm so thankful to be on this adventure with her and I'm happy you're here too!  XOXO, Kacey

The beautiful lady pictured above is Kacey. As you can see, her peaceful spirit and welcoming personality radiates through her gorgeous smile, instantly drawing you in to learn more. Kacey is a great listener and is pretty much an open book who can't wait to share with you the amazing things The Lord has done in her life but is also quick to remind you she is and always will be a work in progress. Kacey is passionate about encouraging women to be all God has called them to be and it seems is always trying to figure out how to do that through coaching a Women's Discipleship group, writing, reading, and planning her next big idea. This fabulous decorator with a super cool style all her own is also wife to Brian and Mama to Ryder (8) and twins Lincoln & Ruby Jane (6) who are so very fortunate to have her, as are all of us that know her. I know you, too will be just as inspired by Kacey as I am, that's for sure! - Emily

Giving Up My Friends, Shares, Likes, and Loves

Lately I find myself bouncing back and forth between two forms of social media - Facebook and Instagram - to keep up with friends, read what my favorite bloggers are writing, and catch glimpses into people's lives. And glimpses - that's exactly what I'm getting.

Yet, I still find myself sucked in (more often than I care to admit) to using social media as my only means of communication with others. And I know I'm not the only one. I have to remember that social media can be used in many ways that are very helpful but if we aren't careful it can also become very negative. Like those innocent pictures that my 2 months post-baby skinny friend who looks like a supermodel just posted? Oh, how quickly I think about how my almost 11 pound baby caused my hips to spread, skin to stretch, and cause my body feel to foreign the first year or so after having my son and BAM! I am in a total funk.

And we won't talk about how often I check comments, likes, etc. to see what people think about what was just posted. Why? As a form of social conversation or to fill a void that isn't being met by others because I am in the house with a 2 year old that doesn't exactly understand how amazing that article was I just read (I know I'm not the only one with this struggle!). You know how to solve that? FOCUS on the sweet 2 year old in front of me and/or GET OUT of the house and go meet up with people! {preaching to myself here} Don't let social media fill the void of actual relationships. Use it as a source to meet others or make dates? Yes! As a means of touch and go communication? Limit that (which is so hard to do!). And we won't even talk about the fact it's a time waster when not used wisely...

Which is why I decided to give it up for lent. This is HUGE for me because, as stated above, I really like to use it as a way to connect throughout the day. But then I am quickly reminded that my main connection throughout the day should be with Finley. Ouch. But so very true. Even more difficult? I still need to use it for work with Team Day and also with the blog. So, only viewing it from my pages app on my phone and staying logged in to oh magnolia on instagram will be the challenge for 40 days. And as nervous as I am about it I am just as excited to see what is revealed to me during this time.

Speaking of lent, Kacey and I both will be sharing about the naptime diaries lent study we will be doing during this season. Feel free to follow us on instagram as we share what we are learning (or what smacks us over the head?!) as we dive into God's word to reflect on our salvation and prepare our spirit for the celebration of Easter.
this journal by Naptime Diaries is still available!
P.S. It's been less than a week and already I can tell a huge difference in not being on fb & ig. I actually sent out pictures and videos of Finley which created conversation with the recipients (family) that I wouldn't have had otherwise (just a like, love, maybe a comment). Also, my phone stayed away most of the weekend as I didn't feel the need to take a picture of all.the.things. I plan on reading the Hands Free Mama (http://www.handsfreemama.com) book during this time to further confirm my commitment to being fully present with my family and/or whoever else's companionship I'm enjoying. Let me know if you have read it yet or plan on it!
